Go on – admit it – you’ve got boxes/bags/cupboards of fabric. Most of it is big enough to make something substantial, but lots of it is smallish (ranging to tiny) bits that you can’t quite bear to throw away.
Here’s one idea to use up some scraps.
I’ve been slowly equipping a vintage picnic basket, and this is its latest aspect – some silver-plated cutlery I’ve gathered from op shops and garage sales. The roll insert is part of a bathmat. The outside blue fabric and inside compartments are treasures from one of my $3 Potters bag of scraps.
There are any number of tutorials on the interwebs, including one on the BurdaStyle site. It’s a quick craft project, and one that will make your next picnic oh-so-sophisticated.
